Chicken Road RTP, house edge & probability

Short answer: The original Chicken Road lists an RTP of 98%, which means a house edge of 2%: on average, 2 of every 100 wagered is kept by the operator over the long run. No cash-out strategy changes that average; strategy only changes how risky each session feels.

Verification status: developer, release dates and RTP figures below are those listed by InOut Games and reported by industry sites. We are re-checking them against the provider's own documentation; anything we could not confirm is marked as such.

RTP and house edge

RTP (return to player) is the share of wagers a game pays back over a very large number of rounds. House edge is the remainder: 100% minus RTP. At 98% RTP the house edge is 2%, so the expected loss is about 2 for every 100 wagered. It is an average over a huge number of rounds, not a guide to one session.

Survival odds by step

In a crash-style game with a constant crash chance per step, the chance of surviving n steps in a row is (1 − p)n. The table uses per-step crash chances commonly cited for the four levels. We have not verified these chances against the provider's documentation, so treat the table as an illustration of the maths, not as official data.

Medium12%68.1%52.8%27.9%

Hardcore40%21.6%7.8%0.6%

Each extra step multiplies the survival chance by the same factor, which is why risk compounds quickly on harder levels.

Why Martingale does not work

Martingale means doubling your bet after every loss. Starting at 1, ten losses in a row require a bet of 512, and the total staked by then is 1,023. Even at a 50% win chance, ten losses in a row happens about once in 1,000 sequences, and when it does it wipes out a bankroll that took hundreds of small wins to build. Betting limits cap the strategy, and it never changes the expected value of a single bet.

Frequently asked questions

What is the RTP of Chicken Road?

The original Chicken Road lists 98%. Chicken Road 2.0 lists 95.5%. The exact figure can vary by operator, so check the game info screen.

Does cashing out early improve my odds?

It lowers the risk of each round and the size of potential wins, but the long-run RTP stays the same.

Does the Martingale strategy work?

No. Doubling after losses needs a rapidly growing bankroll and is capped by table limits. It does not change expected value.

Does the chicken "remember" previous rounds?

No. Each step is independent, so a long safe run does not make a crash more or less likely.
